In two weeks, I’ll be marrying my beloved Thomas. Our hearts are already forever entwined, safe, joyful..we’re just making it legal ..but it’s already where it should be without a piece of paper…forever bonded…forever together, everlasting.

JUST A SUNDAY IN OUR HOUSE

sounds of silence…

Think. How often..do you get…true , wonderful..sounds of silence in your life? and when you do..do you bask in it? My favorite time of year is Summer. I get the most use of silence then…to be able to close my eyes and not be constantly attacked by noise.

A review of the PAUL SIMON CONCERT in Grand Prairie, TX: Oct. 28, 2011..Verizon Theater… I won’t review the opening act…it was not worth my time…but Paul walked onto the stage…to a wild, standing ovation…and I knew right away I was going to love it..because he turned..and applauded US..He was obviously very HAPPY to be there..and ready to take us on a wild, wonderful 2 1/2 hour musical wonderland ride! Casually dressed in blue jeans, t-shirt and jacket…he strapped on his guitar and told us about THE BOY IN THE BUBBLE..as the songs sprang out like beautiful, happy flowers..the crowd responded with one ovation after another ..and the 40-something yearolds were set free from inhibitions..and started to dance and sing! This is the reason I go to concerts..I can pop in a CD any time…but to get the RUSH  of the live concert is such a high…especially to see someone whose music has been woven into your very soul..like Paul Simon. The highlight of the concert for me was when Paul turned to the crowd and said, “STOP AND THINK OF HOW WONDERFUL YOUR LIFE IS”…yes…it IS

“So Beautiful or So What” is Paul Simon’s new CD..his first output in 5 years. Paul turned 70 this week..but as you listen to his voice ..you would still think he is 30 …amazing, crisp, not missing a Paul Simon Beat. His musical originality, spark, creativity and downright genius has always been the draw for me…the lyrics are ALWAYS secondary..almost unneccessary, when you pull melodies like his. If you’re going to listen to this..really LISTEN..don’t make it background music ..I think most people don’t take the time to do ONE THING AT A TIME..in a multi-task society, reading a book, listening to a song, or writing an old fashioned letter is beyond their realm of thinking..but if you DO…you’ll fully enjoy these simple, amazing things. I listened to this CD , while lying facedown in the sun…with our cat, Melody, luxuriously rolling around in the dirt…both of us truly filling our day with just..JOY.

What female performer would you most like to see in concert?

Sheryl Crow is the only one I can immediately think of

For the past several years of my life, I have been drifted off to sleep with a MOON IN MY ROOM…the little girl in the picture is the indicative of the way the moon makes me feel when I turn it on each night…it is like going to sleep under the moon’s protection…sweet dreams to all. I hope there is a “moon” in your life…to help you feel this PEACE.

YES

I can’t find the exact quote on the internet…but my thoughts today parallel the thought…WHAT WORK YOU DO DETERMINES WHAT YOU HAVE…BUT WHAT YOU DO OUTSIDE OF WORK DETERMINES WHO YOU ARE.  So…Don’t let your WORK overshadow your SELF…I want to be a FRIEND,  A LOVING LAP FOR MY CATS TO FEEL SAFE IN,  A SINGER, MUSICIAN, SWIMMER, DANCER..MORE… WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE?
